Course Info
Starting at the magnificent Brooklyn Wind Turbine, enjoy incredible views over Te Whanganui a Tara. You’ll start with 500m of road to spread you out before celebrating the amazing trails in Waimapihi, one of the jewels in Wellington’s trail crown. A run up the fenceline track beside the bird sanctuary will have your ears humming with bird song and your eyes taking in the incredible nature that Zealandia has brought back to our city. A quick U-turn takes you onto Carparts, which winds its way back to the trails of Waimapihi.
After this, enjoy the urban maze of trails through southern Wellington, past the zoo, then North up to Mount Victoria. From here, enjoy the macrocarpa and pine trails until your final journey along the waterfront to your rightful place in Wellington Folklore.
540m of climbing, months of preparation, an entire lifetime of memories. The 25km Challenge is a runner’s delight and the views, trails and finish line smiles will leave you wanting more. A fantastic introduction to trail running that anyone can participate in – it will give you the bug to join in the 50km next year!
